BRIEF
The client wanted to transform a usable outdoor area into a safe, attractive outside space to be used by staff to work and relax. We were tasked with turning the dis-used terrace space into a usable breakout area for agile working.
We needed to check the load bearing capabilities to ensure our clients vision was achievable.
They wanted the area to look and feel like an outside garden space where they could take in the fantastic surrounding views.
THE SOLUTION
We worked closely with the client to help them achieve the relevant planning permissions required for this installation.
All materials had to be craned on/off the roof / terrace – 2nd floor as we could not take it through the business.
We also removed the old disused window cleaning crane and responsibly disposed of it.
External walls tanked to prevent internal guttering leaking inside the building.
Artificial grass was installed on a cushion-backed draining sub-base with custom made decking replacing the old patio slabs.
Bespoke bench seating was put in place around the outsides with a perforated mesh screen for the safety of people using the outside space and privacy of the other buildings surrounding it.
